WHAT DOES THE "U' MEAN BEFORE THE NUMBER IN SOCCER DIVISIONS? EX U9 OR U6
The "U" in U6, U8 or U12 stands for "Under", meaning under 6, under 8 or under 12. Although it says that your child plays in U8, your child could still be 8 years old. Please consult the birthday chart HERE to find out exactly what division your child fits in at Skyline.
MY CHILD IS NEW, HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT TEAM HE/SHE IS PLACED ON?
Welcome to Skyline Soccer Association. If your child is new, all you you need to do is get them registered. If you have friends you would like your child to play with, a favorite coach or your you want your child to practice close to home, please note this in the comments section when registering. If you are new to the area and you'd like your child to play with other kids from their school or you'd like to keep practices and games close to home, please note this in the comments section registering. Once registered and all information is considered for team placement, the coach of the team will contact you and let you know when and where practices are. If a coach does not get in touch with you, please contact the Skyline office for coach contact information.
MY CHILD IS RETURNING TO SKYLINE AND I WANT THEM ON THE SAME TEAM
Not a problem. Just request the team name or coach name when registering and we'll make sure to get them onto the same team as before. If they want to play on a different team than the one the played on previously, please note this as well.
IS THE UNIFORM INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRATION COST
U6 - U18 teams - the uniform is not included. Please see specific uniform pages for pricing.
Grasshoppers and Munchkins do have a uniform included in the cost, which is received the first day of the program.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DOES MY CHILD NEED
All players need shinguards, which can be purchased at most major retailers: Soccer Stop, Sports Authority, Dick's Sporting Goods, Target and Walmart. All U6 and above players need a ball.
U6 - U8 players need a size 3 ball. U9 - U12 players need a size 4 ball and U13 and above players need a size 5 ball. Additionally, all players should bring water and weather appropriate
clothing to all practices and games. Uniforms are required for U6 and above teams. Cleats are not required, but highly recomended for players playing U9 and above.
Munchkin and Grasshopper players need shinguards. Soccer balls will be at the park for you to use each week.
HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO PLAY IN SKYLINE
You can be as young as 2 and a half years old. We also accept players up to 18 years old. Please view our age chart HERE for more detailed information.
WHERE ARE GAMES PLAYED
Games are played in the Denver Metro area. U6 - U7 games are played at Kennedy Soccer Complex. U8 games are played at Southmoor Park. U9 and U10 games are played at Kennedy Soccer Complex. U11 and above games are played at Kennedy Soccer Complex, Ash Grorve, Cook Park or Harvard Gulch Stadium. Please click HERE to find more information about the fields we use.
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY GAME OR PRACTICE IS CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER
You can easily view our weather updates on our home page. You can also call our weather line at 720.317.2882. The website and weather line are update at 1:30 pm Monday - Friday and at 7:30 am on Saturday and Sunday.
