General Information about Open Training Nights (OTN)

What is Open Training Nights (OTN)?
Open Training Nights (OTN) is a free program designed to better prepare current U8, U9, and U10 players for the transition to the Junior Select and Select programs. All players interested in competitive soccer are encouraged to attend all sessions. The sessions will be run by professional staff. A main goal of the Open Training Nights is to allow players to meet other players within the age group. To ensure this, the staff will mix up players. Additionally, the environment will allow for players to develop and expose families to competitive soccer. For U8 and U9 players, coaching staff will help recommend player placement for the fall season.

How do I know if OTN is right for my son or daughter?
OTN is a free program and will give your son or daughter the opportunity to be exposed to professional coaching, meet other players in his/her age group, and help provide feedback to you, as parents, for the fall season. We encourage you to try the program as a way to see if the Junior Select and/or Select environment is something your family may be interested in.

When are the Open Training Nights (OTN) sessions?
OTN sessions in a format that allows players to meet other players and play with the supervision of professional staff. The sessions are held only in the spring season and run 75 minute per session. U8 and U9 players will have four sessions, and U10 players will have two sessions.

What does the Open Training Nights (OTN) look like?
Players will be led in a large group warm-up focusing on the individual player, a 1 ball : 1 player ratio. Players will then be lead through a series of activities focused on the individual players progressing to large sided activities to conclude the session.

How do players sign-up?
No online registration is required. All players interested in Junior Select or Select soccer in the fall are invited and are asked to RSVP to the Advanced Director, Ryan Moore via e-mail at ryan@skylinesoccer.org.
