Basic Rules Session (U6-U8)
Skyline utilizes volunteer referees at the U6-U8 level. This class is a brief introduction to the rules at each level. Participants will receive a rules handbook and a whistle. We recommend that each team have 1 or 2 qualified volunteer referees. 

Linesman Class
According to the CYS bylaws, each U9 and above team participating in Interleague must have a club trained linesman. The linesman may be asked to assist the certified center referee at home or away games if a club assigned referee is not available. Skyline requires at least 1 person from each U9 and above Recreational team attend linesman training.

USSF Grade 9
This is a certification at the State Level and consists of a full day course and an exam.  Referees who complete this course can center referee recreational games or be a linesman on competitive games through U14. 

USSF Grade 8
This is a certification at the State Level and consists of weekend course and an exam.  Referees who complete this course can center any age.  Skyline is not currently sponsoring any Grade 8 Courses.  There are several Bridge, Grade 9 and Grade 8 courses sponsored by other clubs throughout the year.  Check www.coreferees.org for details.

Recreational Pay Scale

* The $58 fee for USSF Referee Courses is reimbursed upon request to referees who officiate at least 8 games throughout the season. 

Referees must renew their prior level of training each year in order to fulfill requirements and/or be paid.
