How to Register For Grasshoppers & Munchkins

How The Program Works

Cost: $70 for the 6 week program. Grasshoppers and Munchkins play once a week for 6 consecutive weeks. The program you sign up for is where you'll meet each week - same park, day, and time!

Team Requests: Want to play with a friend or the same coach from last year? Indicate a friend or team request during the registration process. We do our best to make sure each need is met!

What to wear: A jersey is provided the first day of the session. If you can't make it the first day, we'll have it for you next week! Players should wear athletic shorts or pants (any color), shin guards, and good gym shoes. Shin guards can be purchased at Dick's Sporting Goods. Soccer socks and soccer cleats are not required but can be worn.

What to bring: A water bottle and a ton of energy!

What to expect: The first 5-7 minutes of the session are a big group warm up led by Skyline staff. Then, players split into their color-coded teams (7 - 10 kids per team) for 40 -55 minutes of fun soccer games and activities. Munchkins (4 - 5 year olds) will scrimmage the last 15 - 20 minutes of each session. Grasshoppers (2.5 -3 year olds) will start to scrimmage towards the end of the season.

What's at the field:
Cones, pinnies, soccer balls (size 3), goals, a team roster, and nametags. You do not need to bring any additional equipment with you!

Coaches: All teams are coached by volunteer parent coaches. They receive a weekly coaching plan written by the Youth Director each week. Interested in coaching?

Program details and team information: You will get more information 2 - 3 weeks before the start of your program. Team assignments are made 1 week prior to the start of the program and will be emailed to you.

Additional information:

  • Additional make-up weeks are scheduled directly following the end of each season if there are weather-related cancellations.
  • Multiple club coaches (hired by Skyline) are on hand at each park to help out with teams.
  • Parent participation is always encouraged during the session! Lend a hand to a volunteer coach and help be a part of the games your child is playing. If your player is shy, you are more than welcome to be on the field with him or her.
