Skyline Soccer Player Development Plan

Grasshoppers and Munchkins Program

The Grasshopper (2.5 – 3 years old) and Munchkin (4 – 5 years old) programs are specifically designed for the beginner player. Emphasis is placed on introducing players to the very basics of soccer in a high-energy, fun environment through interactive and imaginary games. Each program is six weeks long and the program you sign up for is where you will meet once a week – at the same time, on the same day, and at the same park. The cost of each six week session is $75, and includes a team t-shirt. The only additional equipment your player will need is shinguards; soccer cleats are optional but not required, and balls are provided for use at the field. Our Grasshopper and Munchkin programs are offered in the spring, summer, and fall. Winter programming coming soon.
6U-7U Recreational Program
Our Recreational program for 6U-7U age groups is designed to provide fun and development without the emphasis on travel or high-level competition. All teams are coached by volunteer parents and play in-house against other Skyline teams. At this age, teams typically practice 1 – 2 times a week at a convenient field location near you for 60-90 minutes. Practice days and times will vary from team to team based on the needs of each team. All games for this age group are played at Southmoor Park and Veterans Park on Saturdays. All players wear Skyline recreational uniforms on game day that can be ordered online.
Skyline also offers an advanced SKILLS program, which is an additional training option for all players within this age group.
8U Jr Elite Program
The Jr Elite program for 8U players is a program that provides an environment for players that want to play in a more competitive setting. There is an ID camp that players would attend to be evaluated. Participation in 8U Jr Elite is by invitation only and a year long commitment. These Jr Elite teams play up an age group and participate in Colorado Soccer Association Recreational Leagues. Jr Elite teams play 8 games in an 7v7 format with a keeper. Games are played in a home & away setting against opposing non-Skyline and Skyline opponents (depending on teams in the division). All players wear Skyline uniforms on game day that can be ordered online. Some travel outside of the Denver and surrounding areas may be required for games.
