Skyline Soccer Association has been the heart of Denver youth soccer since 1965. Today, Skyline serves roughly 4,000 players each season ranging in age from 2.5 – 19 years old and provides options for all levels of players, from the beginner to the advanced. Skyline is the largest Denver-based sports organization serving all areas of Denver and surrounding suburbs. The association uses over 25 field complexes every season to host practices, games, camps and clinics.
Skyline Soccer Association is striving to be a national leader as it relates to US Soccer Grassroots Coach and Player Development. The club has adopted US Soccer’s Grassroots Player Development Philosophy into all of its programming: “At the Grassroots level, children learn and develop to their full potential through game-like experiences in an enjoyable environment that supports individual growth.”
In addition, Skyline endorses US Soccer’s Grassroots Training Methodology focusing on Play-Practice-Play (P-P-P) at every age level from 6U through 19U. Grassroots Play-Practice-Play (P-P-P) is designed around a player-centered approach to coaching. Taking a player centered approach places the needs and motivations of the player at the forefront of a coach’s approach to coaching his or her players.

MLS Next Academy & Girls 13U-19U Academy Director

ABOUT THE POSITION
This position reports to the Technical Director. The MLS & Academy DOC manages all soccer-related responsibilities for Skyline’s 13U-19U Top-Level Teams (Boys & Girls). The position handles both on field and administrative duties related to the MLS & Academy program. The position works with the Program Administrator and DOC’s dedicated to the 11U-19U Competitive program. The focus for the DOC is to maintain high quality service, communication, higher curriculum development, strong coach relationships and mentoring as well as fun for the program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing coach recruitment, development and training; managing all coach related communication; addressing nuanced program concerns and team issues; overseeing team formation and the player identification process; registration, scheduling, overseeing field operations and logistics; and being a central and positive representative for the program. Additionally, this position is responsible for building quality relationships with the surrounding local High School Programs so that Skyline can continue to retain, attract and develop its HS players and teams.
Field and Operational Responsibilities - 50%
● Oversees all functions pertaining to managing and operating for Boys MLS and Girls Academy Programs.
● Manages game day operations and staff to ensure logistics are in place.
● Manage team placement on practice fields with the rest of the staff.
● Develops, mentors and works with coaches to create practice and game schedules.
● This DOC will plan and manage winter training, travel within the program requirements and needs. Overall, DOC needs to ensure that all players have quality training opportunities throughout the year.
● Ensures all equipment related to their Programs is managed appropriately, and oversees equipment logistics, i.e. coach practice gear check-in/check-out, game-day equipment, etc.
● Assists with identifying and recruiting Skyline’s Academy players to their program. Also identify and recruit non-Skyline players for MLS and Elite League platforms.
● Address all coaching issues, player issues, and general concerns relating to the program.
● Has a strong presence on the field to assist/mentor coaches, develop players and give expertise as needed.
● Builds strong relationships with all coaches, players and families within their program.
● Involved with age transition from 12U (9v9) to 13U (11v11) will be as smooth as possible.
● Reports any issues in a timely manner to the Technical Director and Executive Director.
Administrative Responsibilities - 30%
● Be the primary point of contact for all their coaches, players, parents and Boys MLS Academy League and Girls Elite League programming.
● As the Program Administrator, plan all program communication, annual calendar and timelines, etc.
● Communicates with coaches and league regarding season information, practice and game schedules, and provides advice on team management, provides training sessions, etc.
● Manages team formation, player placement, player registration, coach placement and the rostering processes.
● Communicates to parents regarding team placement, practice information and overall season expectations and “need to know” information.
● Addresses all nuanced program specific questions related to the program such as team specific questions, player movement, coach issues, etc.
● Shares and educates the clubs policies, procedures and expectations for coaches, parents and players.
● Holds meetings to inform and educate coaches, players and families.
● Phone calls and emails are returned in 24hrs.
● Communication is frequent, informative, service friendly and through many channels
● Stays in contact with Skyline high school players to show support and keep them engaged with Skyline.
● Build relationships with local HS coaches, athletic directors and athletic administrators throughout the year.
● Create a College Assistance Program (CAP). Guild players who have the interest and ability to play college soccer and help open collegiate doors for them.
● Work with team managers to help them with team travel and ensure they follow Skyline travel policies
Coach and Player Development - 20%
● Builds good relationships with coaches and players within their program.
● Recruitment and retention focus for all teams and players within their program.
● Recruits, trains, mentors and manages coaches within their program.
● Run coaches pre-season meetings and assist with practices and games as needed.
● Develop, maintain and promote coach education programs. Supply coaches with practice plans and give tips on how to engage their players.
● Create a comprehensive curriculum for their teams and players, in conjunction with club curriculum, and implement in coach training and camps.
● Coaches both players and coaches during training and in games.
Seasonal Events
● Support Skyline Cup Tournament, Skyline Friendlies, Tryouts, Kick-Arounds, League Games, Indoor Leagues, Camps and field set-up and take down.
● Fill in as DOC for other program needs when available or if schedule demands.
● Attend as many local HS games as possible each season.
Continuing Education
● Continue to advance your knowledge, licensing, certification in coaching related education.
● Create and develop coach education with the Technical Director.
Qualifications
● Must have prior Director of Coaching experience - DOC experience at the HS age levels and/or college levels is preferred.
● Must have a “B” Coaching license. Must continue to build on coaching education and coaching knowledge.
● Must have extensive coaching experience within the 11v11 format.
● Must have excellent customer service skills and build relationships.
● Must have administrative skills and good communication skills.
● Must be able to pass a background check every 2 years and complete concussion training and SafeSport every year.
● Must be able to be on your feet for over 8 hours and lift 75 pounds.
● Must have own transportation and be an eligible driver.

Competitive Team Coach
Description: Team Coaches instruct our higher level teams in CSA leagues. Focus on the development of the individual players & team using age appropriate training methods in conjunction with the Skyline Player Development Plan. Work closely with the Director of Coaching and Technical Director of the club. Team Coach will coordinate and communicate with families on a regular basis. This is a seasonal contract, paid position.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct 2 to 3 team training sessions per week (depending on the age and playing level) games on Saturdays and some Sundays.
• Facilitate match management duties for each team (warm-up prior to matches, line-ups, substitutions, match tactics, etc.)
• Respond to emails from team members, parents, opposing coaches, club Administrator, Director of Coaching and Technical Director in 24 hours.
• Manage/support team participating in tournaments and off-season training.
• Lead their respective teams into the competitive tryout process, including player placement recommendations.
• Attend and assist in the tryout process for all Skyline Competitive teams. Team coaches will also conduct player evaluations and hold team meetings.
• Pay is commensurate with experience, licensing, team level, team size per season.
• Additional work opportunities, such as camps, may be available.
Qualifications:
• Must be able to pass a background check and have a valid driver's license.
• Must be willing to participate in coach education offered by the club and by US Soccer.
• Must have previous soccer playing or coaching experience.
• Must complete SafeSport and Concussion training.
• Must have reliable transportation

Site Coordinator
Site coordinators are assigned to a recreational soccer program and often a particular park. Duties include;
WORK DAY & HOURS:
- Site Coordinators for the U6-U10 program work Saturday games, roughly 8:00-12:00
- Site Coordinators for the G&M program work any of the following days (depending on what they choose) M,T,W,TH from 4-6 or Sat 8-11
BEFORE PROGRAM:
- Set up the fields. Each program should begin with safety checked and clean fields.
- Put up goals (Pugg goals or Bownets depending on program)
- Stake goals into the ground for safety
- Distribute pinnies, cones, and balls to each field
- For G&M program, make sure supply box has extra t-shirts, paperwork, or announcements ready for parents
- Be on hand to welcome and answer any parent’s questions and help teams find their field.
- START ON TIME!
DURING PROGRAM:
- Keep track of time and ensure things start and end on time.
- Monitor safety, no one is "out of hand", no drinking alcohol at the fields.
- Monitor weather and clear fields if there's lightning.For G&M program, lead group warms in a fun and energetic way.
- For G&M program, make sure coaches have a copy of the session plan
- For G&M program, monitor the fields for coaches who need help
AFTER PROGRAM:
- Congratulate players on a great session/game and thank families for coming as they leave!
- Once everything has finished, break down goals, gather pinnies, cones and balls.
- Pick up any trash or debris left over. Bring lost and found items back to the office.

(3U - 5U) Grasshopper & Munchkin Staff Coach
Job Summary:
Skyline Soccer Association is looking for energetic Club Coaches to assist during the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons of our Grasshoppers & Munchkins soccer program. One of the oldest soccer clubs in Denver, we serve roughly 2,500 players each season. Our Grasshoppers and Munchkins program is specifically designed to teach 2 – 5 yr. old players the very basics of soccer while playing games, making friends, and having fun! Ideal candidates will be passionate, enthusiastic, and have experience working with children. Extensive soccer knowledge is not required, but is always a plus!
Responsibilities:
- Field set up and monitoring player safety
- Facilitate group warm-up
- Coaching teams of 10 – 12 players, ages 2.5 – 3 or 4 – 5 years old
- Assist volunteer parent coaches or peer staff coaches with team activities as requested
- Tear down fields and equipment at the end of each session
- Customer Service to families, players, and coaches
Qualifications:
Must be comfortable working with children ages 2 – 5 yrs. old in a team atmosphere. Extensive soccer knowledge is not required – we look for energetic and passionate people who understand how to relate to and engage children of the preschool age.
Must be comfortable leading a group through soccer related activities for 45 – 60 minutes on your own (coaching plans are provided but not extensive training).
Must be punctual, reliable, and bring a smile to the field each week!
Must be able to pass a national background check, legally approved to work in the United States, and have reliable transportation.
The beginning pay for this position is $16/hr (subject to increase based on experience)
Season Logistics:
We run Spring, Summer, and Fall Seasons. Sessions are held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings as well as Saturday mornings at a variety of parks around the Denver-metro area.Please view our Grasshopper and Munchkin program locations, along with each location’s schedule and season dates.
Weekday work time commitments run from 4:30 – 6:30 pm; Saturday work time commitments run from 8:30 am – 11:30 am (end times vary depending on location).
The sessions you sign up to work are where you will meet once a week, at the same time and place, for six – eight weeks depending on weather. Coaches can select to work one day a week all the way up to all four weekdays and Saturday morning.
Precedence will be given to applicants who can commit to two or more days per week.

(6U - 8U) SKILLS Trainer
Job Summary:
Skyline Soccer Association is looking for energetic and knowledgeable trainers to run the spring U6-U8 SKILLS program. One of the oldest soccer clubs in Denver, we serve roughly 3,500 players each season. The U6-U8 SKILLS program is designed for the 5-8 year old looking for an additional training option outside their normal parent run practices. Ideal candidates will be passionate, enthusiastic, and have a background and knowledge with the game of soccer. Coaching licensing and experience is not required but is considered a huge plus.
Responsibilities:
Field set up
Facilitate group warm-up
Coaching a group of 8 – 12 5-8 years old players (Session plans provided)
Tear down fields and equipment at the end of each session
Qualifications:
Must be comfortable working with children ages 5-8 yrs. old in a technical development training session.
Extensive soccer knowledge is needed as you will be teaching players basic technical skills that will be outlined by Skyline Staff.
Must be comfortable leading a group through a full training session for 60 minutes on your own (coaching plans are provided but not extensive training).
Must be punctual, reliable, and bring a smile to the field each week!
Must be able to pass a national background check, legally approved to work in the United States, and have reliable transportation.
Season Logistics:
Sessions are held on Monday and Thursday evenings Veterans Park
Work time commitments run from 4:45 – 7:15 pm.
The program runs for a total of six weeks in the fall and spring.
Not all coaches work both nights of the program and you do not have to work both sessions if you do not want to.

(8U - 10U) Elite Team Coach
Job Summary:
Our Elite Staff coaches our pre-competitive teams (9U/10U) in the Elite Program. The goal of the Elite program is to prepare players for the competitive program, known as the Competitve Program, at 11U. Elite Staff coaches focus on the development of the individual player using age appropriate training methods in conjunction with the Skyline Player Development Plan and the Director of Coaching.
Responsibilities:
• Elite Staff coaches are in charge of conducting 2 team training session per week, per team.
• Elite Staff coaches are in charge of match management duties for each team (warm-up prior, line-ups, substitutions, match tactics, etc.)
• Elite Staff are expected to respond to emails from team members, team parents, opposing coaches, and the Director of Coaching in less than 24 hours.
• Elite Staff coaches are expected to lead their respective teams in the tryout process for all Skyline Select teams including duties associated with player placement.
• Elite Staff coaches are expected to assist in the tryout process for all Skyline Select teams.
• Pay is commensurate with experience ranging from $800 – $1,000 per season, per team.
• Additional work opportunities (i.e. camps) may be available.
Qualifications:
• Soccer knowledge via playing experience and/or coaching experience is required.
• National ‘E’ License, NSCAA National License, or higher is preferred.

Job Summary:
Elite Trainers will develop 9U and 10U players for the 11U+ Competitive program. Trainers focus on the development of the individual player using age appropriate training methods in conjunction with the Director of Coaching.
Responsibilities:
• Trainers are in charge of conducting 75 minute training sessions 1 to 3 nights a week.
• Trainers are expected to be at the fields 30 minutes prior to each session and stay until all players are picked up.
• Trainers are not required to coach during games.
• Pay is approximately $30 – $40 per session, commensurate with experience.
• Additional work opportunities (i.e. camps) may be available.
Qualifications:
• Soccer knowledge via playing experience and/or coaching experience is required
• National ‘E’ License, NSCAA National License, or higher is strongly preferred.

Summer Recreational Camps are designed for the 5-10 year old looking for a way to have fun, make friends and have a great summer camp experience all while learning new soccer skills! Ideal candidates will be passionate, enthusiastic, be good at working with young kids and have a background and knowledge with the game of soccer. Coaching licensing and experience is not required but is considered a plus.
Responsibilities:
Field set up
Facilitate group warm-up
Coaching a group of 8 – 12, 5-10 years old players throughout the session (Session plans provided)
Tear down fields and equipment at the end of each session.
Qualifications:

Season Logistics:
Camps run from Monday-Friday from 9:00am-12:00pm every week of the summer. Camp locations and dates can be found at Summer Soccer Camps. Work time commitments run from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm.
Our summer season starts on June 8th and concludes on August 7th. Coaches do not usually work every week of camp throughout the summer.
